Modernbill meddelar idag att ModerbGigabyte som är deras moderbolag har sålts till Parallel. Detta kommer att utöka Parallels arsenal av host relaterade produkter som Virtuozzo, Plesk, Parallels Pro och Helm. I framtiden kan vi således se Plesk med ModernBill inbakat och liknande konstellationer.
Modernbill är en av dom främsta när det gäller skript för webhosting och även om lanseringen av ModernBill V5 har kantats av ganska hård kritik mot brister och långsam utveckling så ligger dom stadigt som det främsta valet för framförallt större webhosting företag. Frågan är om uppköpet kommer att ge ModernBill den knuff dom behöver för att tysta kritiken eller om det kommer att ge ytterligare problem för ModernBills utveckling.
För Plesk kan detta ge en rejäl boost när man nu kommer att lansera en mer komplett produkt med ModernBill integrerad, vilket troligen kommer locka många att prova Plesk som idag inte riktigt når samma volym som till exempel Cpanel som dominerar marknaden. Ett intressant uppköp på många sätt som jag tror kommer att tillföra mycket till Parallels.

In the near future you will see Plesk being bundled with ModernBill by many of Parallels channel partners. This will provide one of the most advanced control panel integrations produced to date.
