Holistic Expert.
An holistic expert is someone that have the experience and skill of multiple areas so they can see things from a holistic perspective. Most people have experience from two or three areas, which is a source of great strength as you can see and understand the work from more then one perspective. I have many years hands-on experience from all of the main areas of the build process.
I started as a frontend developer and designer way back in 1996, started my own hosting and webdesign company in 2006, was hired as a conversion expert with speciality in psychology in 2011, tester in 2013, teamlead and scrum master in 2015 and then Atlassian expert with speciality in work processes since 2016. I build and train people in portfolio management and I have a keen interest in security and legal matters.
No matter what roles you put in a room I can discuss any topic and understand the pain points of everyone in the room. This is my greatest strength as an Holistc Expert.

Last week I was home sick, and as always, you have to do something when you can barely function. What better way than to spend some time trying out the Rovo Dev Agent that was in Beta? What does it do, and is it worth the hefty $20/month price tag Atlassian is asking for it? I had to find out and see how useful this little thing really is... Setting things up in VS Code. Said and done. I spun up my old VS Code, installed the plugins, and configured things. The plugin is called Atlassian: Jira,

Yesterday I started to look into a problem I have been dealing with for a very long time. Over the years I have built things on my website in bursts and when time permits. As I have not followed any real structure in naming and as the platform has changed, things have been broken. As a result, I have a hefty technical debt on my hands and I have hesitated to dig into it because I have not had any plan on how to improve. Until yesterday. Yesterday I started to work on a new schema in assets, just

Five weeks ago, I started using Ozempic for my diabetes. I started with 0.25mg and last week I increased to 0.5mg. So far it is going well, and my blood sugar has dropped quite a bit from around 9-11 to a 6-9 mmol/L. My average last week was 7.6 and my 2-week average was 7.9. Over the month it was 8.5, so it is in steady decline and as I enter week 2 with 0.5mg I feel good about this change. I am still taking my Metformin twice a day (2x 500mg) and I'll discuss with my doctor later if I should

I have been working on the site a bit in the past few weeks, and most of it is small changes. Despite that, these are changes that really has been bothering me that I needed to get adjusted. Some of these changes are on the details side, but most are on the larger architecture side. I am now updating a lot of content as a result. Moving from categories to filters One of the big changes is that I have moved from categories and started to use filters more. There are still plenty of categories, of

It has been a while since I sat down and wrote here on my personal blog. It is partly because between work and the never ending saga of trying to get my father's passing documented with the different Swedish government entities, but there are other reasons as well. One such reason is that I have been very tired as this spring and summer has been very difficult from a pollen perspective. All of these things combined has meant that I have a lot less energy than I usually have. Despite that, howeve

This week was a good week. I had a good meeting with my managers about managing time and expectations, and then I started to enroll in a new project. I also started the internal training I have prepared for my colleague, and I got a fair bit of work done on the presentation for the webinar I will host later this month. I also had two meeting with Atlassian that were very productive, and even the internal meetings at work felt more productive for some reason. This weekend I have slept well, and y

Product Manager own the product while the product owner manage it. Scrum Manager work both towards management and the team and everyone is an engineer, but have no scientific approach to anything they do. Sometimes I feel that the world has gone mad and that titles as well as words are used without logic or even thought sometimes. A Product Owner, owns the product. A Product Manager, manages the product. It is defined in the titles themselves... A Scrum Manager is just a manager in a fake Sc

This week I started my new position as Atlassian Architect for Sii Sweden, an Atlassian Platinum partner, after a lightning fast interview phase. It has been quite the interesting week with onboarding and getting to know the massive organization that Sii International is. I am now working from a new location in Stockholm that I do not have been to very much, so it is interesting to explore the area as well. Some of you might know that I have been looking for a new employer after QRIOS decided to

You would think that becoming exponentially better at measuring and anticipating risks is something most organizations would spend time and money on. Especially since it is the core of making sure we create value from our work and to manage our financials as an organization. Just as we as a society benefit from learning from history so we can avoid wars and cultural destruction as well as genocide, surely we as organizations would emphasize on preventing disasters, both long term and short term

We have been told to think outside the box for so long, so maybe we are forgetting how to think INSIDE the box? We placed things in the box for a reason, but maybe we have forgotten why we did it in the first place? If we always think outside the box, why do we have the box at all and does that strange box we are supposed to think outside actually exist anymore? Personally I think the only thing that matters is that we THINK, regardless if it is inside or outside the box. Don't just do witho

If your goal is to build a road to the future where your vision is aimed, why do you insist on keep digging holes where you stand? What makes less sense is why you compare the speed with which you are digging those holes instead of measuring how far the road towards your vision you are getting? Unless your road to success is a hole straight to hell, perhaps it would make sense to lift your gaze towards the horizon instead of staring down at your feel at the bottom of the hole you are so franti

Your team is either an Engineering team building towards a vision, or a mining team digging up value as they find it. You can't do both. Many teams are confused about of these two and as a result they get the wrong result. If you are working with continuous deliveries then your goal is to always move towards your visions and goals. If you are working in a project, or in a R&D setting with ideation and exploration, then you are working towards finding as much value as you can in a set am

Project Eunomia was a massive project to save one of the most messed up Atlassian platforms I have ever seen. With a background of having multiple Data Center products smashed together with little to no cleaning and with no strategy in any of the products it had created a tangled up mess that barely held together. In order to save the platform I started by cleaning out hundreds of unused projects. I then moved over to the configurations where I aligned Priority schemas to two main schemas and a

Project Heimdall was a massive project where I went through a full security audit for the Atlassian Data Center products Confluence, Jira Software and Jira Service Management. During the audit I mapped out a number of activities such as securing the API's, revise the situation with how groups were being used as that was out of control, document integrations and ensuring that access was configured properly. The first activity was to kick out everyone from system administration that was not a memb

I worked with Atlassian to get an overview of all Atlassian products related to Sinch based on the known domain names Sinch own. From the list of 1300+ products I conducted a project to consolidate the many organizations under one Enterprise license and to shut down old and unused Atlassian products. I used Assets and Confluence for organization and documentation and once the main organizations had been identified I took ownership of the organizations as Org Admin. I worked with the owners of t

A massive project I single-handedly managed where 3000 users was moving from Data Center to Cloud using a greenfield approach. I configured the cloud platform from scratch by setting up standards for all configurations based on our Atlassian strategies. I planned the entire project, defined the budget, scheduled the 1400 workshops, created the 300+ projects with standard configurations and set up each project in Confluence where each team managed their cloud journey. I also documented all conf

My assignment was to make a new design for the web based user area based on the graphical profile from one of ChessIT's clients. I worked with the client and the developers to find a balance between the two that satisfied the requirements and respected the time constraints. I also worked with ChessIT to create new icons for their solution and create a design guide for future design work. Furthermore, I assisted wi

The design for Stadium was done by a design agency, but I was asked to do the design for the Checkout and My Pages. Based on the overall design I created the design for these sections according to the best practices and personal experiences I had regarding design for conversion (CRO). After the project I did a second round of optimizations based on findings since the first design. This was specially requested by Stadium and I did it on top of my normal work because of this.

Me and Mauro was tasked to go over the requirements to ensure they were properly understood and defined. The original requirements were loosely defined and as we went over them with Stadium we could identify the need properly and match it towards technical solutions. This ensured the need was possible to implement and that we could find and manage requirements that not yet been expressed.
