Domänskydd Sverige KB tar till sig av kritiken
Självklart gör jag detsamma och ger Domänskydd Sverige KB en stor tummen upp för att dom inte bara tagit till sig kritiken utan också för att dom fört en dialog om saken. Sånt är alltid värt att lovordna och jag hoppas att Domänskydd Sverige KB slipper den här typen av uppmärksamhet i framtiden.

Mozilla råkade lägga ut 44000 användarkonton
Det är inte första gången som information hamnar på villovägar på grund av serverbyten, se bara på polisen i Colorado som råkade lämna en databas öppen med bland annat informatörer gällande droghandel. Den här gången är det inte lika allvarligt, men trenden med data som hamnar på villovägar känns ändå lite alarmerande, speciellt som allt mer data om oss ligger i databaser som vi inte har någon kontroll över.

Wordpress 3.1 försenad och i behov av fler betatestare
Troligen är det julen som ställer till det lite eftersom många har annat att syssla med den här tiden på året så då får betatestandet vänta lite. Jag gissar att det blir en nu version under mellandagarna när dom svullna julmagarna får lite vila.
Personligen tänker jag vänta ett par veckor iallafall för jag misstänker att det slinker igenom ett par buggar med 3.1 när WP valt att lägga in jul och nyår i releaseplanen. Av erfarenhet vet jag att koncentrationen är lite lägre den tiden på året och det brukar slinka igenom fler saker än normalt då.

Wordpress 3.1 - Post format
Postformat är kort sagt ett sätt att särskilja olika typer av poster och om man vill ge varje typ en unik design. Personligen tycker jag det känns lite överflödigt när vi redan har custom post types om du vill separera olika innehåll för att skapa ett galleri och ett nyhetsflöde till exempel, men visst kan det ha sina användningsområden.
Ett exempel kan till exempel vara att poster som innehåller video eller grafik får ett specifikt utseende som är mer anpassat för just det innehållet och det är ju användbart.
Som vanligt för nya typer av innehåll så måste du lägga till funktionen i filen functions.php:

Sedan så kan du lägga in conditional tags i koden för att forma layouten för olika posttyper som du vill. Lisa Sabin-Wilson har ett exemple på hur det kan se ut:

Jag misstänker att vi kommer att se att folk kommer att blanda post types och post format för olika ändamål, något som i slutändan kommer att bli förvirrande för dom som är nya på Wordpress och jag hade hellre sett att Wordpress fokuserade på annat, som ett utvecklat system för att hantera användare och ommunity funktioner, men det kanske kommer i framtiden.

Min spontana reaktion är hur funktionen kommer att fungera och hur lång tid det tar att bli av med varningen? Google är ju inte direkt känd för att vara snabba när det gäller den typen av hantering och med tanke på hur många sidor som kommer att registreras som hackade så behövs det en rejäl arbetsstyrka för att hinna med att meddela webmasters och att kontrollera och ta bort varningar.

Facebook ger möjlighet att filtrera nyhetsflödet
Det nya filtret ger möjlighet att separera ut nyheter för spel, statusuppdateringar, foton, länkar och sidor. Utöver det så kan det nya filtret också separera ut nyheterna efter vängrupper om du har sådana skapade. Det betyder att du kan skapa specifika vängrupper för olika ändamål och sedan filtrera ut precis dom uppdateringar du önskar.

Facebook förbättrar statistiken för sidor
Insights för sidorna har förbättrats och blivit mer träffsäker, speciellt när det gäller externa källor. Därmed blir det enklare att se hur olika tabbar står sig när det gäller trafik, vilket gör arbetet med tabbar enklare att hantera.
Möjligheten att filtrera på datum gjordes tidigare med hopplösa sliders som gjorde lite som dom ville, men nu gör man valet med en mer bekant form genom kalenderval med dropdowns. Möjligheten att få fram information beroende på tidsperioder gör det ännu enklare att hålla koll på trafiken på sin Facebook sida.
