Interesting discussion about AI at Atlassian Team 26 now. Good points of views and a nice mix of both positive and negative views on AI, which I like.
Back from a week with my mother. It was a great week, and I feel well rested now.
Now it is time to get back to working again and focusing on my book :)
Getting ready to see my mother for a while over easter and next week.
It will be good to take a break and spend time with her as these last few weeks have been a bit stressful.
Yesterday I had a meeting with Atlassian about seasonal releases. What they showed me really impressed me!
So there are some good things coming, and I can't wait to try it out!
I decided to build that book section today. There are some areas to iron out still, but getting the basics was pretty fun.
I was trying to see if I wanted different landing pages for paperback, Kindle, and hardcover, but I decided that while it would mean more landing pages, it is not something that improves the user experience. So, instead, you have multiple links on each book and data for all of them in one place.
It will do for now.
Today, I have looked into the possibility of building a Book section. There are a ton of great books of different topics and I figure that if I can build a nice database of the ones I favor, then I could connect it to Amazon affilation and perhaps also make a little extra to cover the expenses of my Atlassian apps...
This week, I have been thinking a lot about documentation and perhaps more so about what to document. I find it interesting that so few people seem to see the correlation between processes and ways of working. I also learned today that RACI, a common tool to define responsibilities, is not a popular tool for people favoring Agile. That is hardly surprising, but I find the ways these people want to dilute the RACI quite amusing indeed.
Do you use RACI, or see value in it?
Last night I got 233 app update notifications. That was not the biggest update in the history of Atlassin, but someone who screwed up...again. I will nowhave to go over the first 300 or so app updates to see what is actually updated and what is not. That is because the App Updates list doesn't have any indications on what has been updated, so I have to manually go into every single update to review them one by one...
Today is one of those days where you are fortunate not have any hair left. Such a simple thing to just create a work item when a new project is created to trigger an automation. But you can't access Space Category, so you are forced to either have the project name always follow some standard or hard-code the ID (which kind of defeats the purpose!)
Alternatively, I have to set up a new account, create an API key for it (which will fail every year because no one watches them), and do a web request to fetch the value and then use it in a comparison...
God, I hate these limitations sometimes....
I have reworked the Articles section and decided to break down some of the categories into smaller categories.
The categories look a bit empty right now, but it gives me a better view of where I can add focus to build up the categories with quality content.
It will take a while to rebuild this, but I am in no hurry :)
Today I am looking into the content strategies for my website and other content. I am happy to see that I am doing pretty well in terms of content, so I just need to clean some things up and continue building content.
I realize I get a lot of attention lately for content and expertise outside of the Atlassian ecosystem that still is very much related in many ways. I will see if I can write more about things like processmanagement, SOPs, management models and ISO-9001 and ISO-27001 compliance...
I have started to clean up the Articles section today. It feels nice to have some images back after I lost all of them in a bug a while back. As I dig through them, I also realize how much I like to write these articles and how many more articles I feel I can add.
I will continue to clean the articles up and move a few things around, and while I do that, I will also note down things I want to add to the Articles.

This is by far the best newsletter implementation I have seen, and it blows my mind to be honest! I will test this out for a while to see what the capabilities are and give some feedback to Cedric, and then I will make a few videos for it!

Read a nice post this morning about a study on consulting and what value companies noticed from their contributions.

This is posted in the Leadership Think Tank, so it is angled based on that usergroup. Still, it is a bit hilarious that company leaders question the value of consultants when so often they are the ones who restrict consultants from actually providing value. Or they ignore the value that was created once the consultant leaves and then blame the consultant for failing.
They added this video, and I had to point out that sometimes this is exactly what the companies ask of the consultants.
A reflection on that video is that there are times when the customers want a consultant to behave exactly like that. Just so they can say that they have hired a consultant to "improve the onboarding and offboarding experience on the platform" without actually doing anything...
So it is not just some consultants that pretend to make a difference, but some companies pretend to fix their internal problems with buzzwords and hiring a high-end consultant to obfuscate the situation as well ;)

I have also added some people and restructured the database for My Work profiles.

Now that I have status updates back, I have to figure out how to make use of them...
