When Atlassian announced that they were looking into individual resource planning, I was super excited! When I witnessed the first post on how they are thinking about implementing it, I was heartbroken...

This is my BRUTALLY honest opinion on the suggested setup of individual capacity planning... in Jira. You can expect a deep dive into resource management, resource planning, and how I would do it if I had a position at Atlassian.

Enter at your own peril.

In Jira we have all been using Jira projects as the container for our work, but now, finally, that is changing. Jira Projects are being renamed to Jira Spaces!!

This was announced today in the Atlassian community, and I could not be more happy about this finally being publicly announced!

This change is for Jira, Jira Service Management and Jira Product Discovery.

Soon, all tasks under epics in Jira Work Management will be seamlessly nested in both list and timeline views. With this enhancement, you can organize projects and visualize dependencies, right within Jira Work Management.

Atlassian has finally rolled out the changes to Epics, so you can change the name of your epics to anything you want. As an added bonus, they are now giving both standard and free licenses of Jira the ability to create issue hierarchy above the Epic level. This was previously only available for Premium and Enterprise customers!

This change was first announced back in December 2021 (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-articles/Upcoming-Rename-epics-in-your-company-managed-projects/ba-p/1874726) and since then it has gone through several revisions and delays where we for example got the new Parent field and several underlying changes to how Epics worked. This included changes to Epic name and Epic links, which rolled out last year.

As of February 14th however, this change is finally here, and you can rename your Epics AND you can now scale your issue hierarchy to best fit your organization need.

Now that is a gift of Love if I ever saw it!!
