Five weeks ago, I started using Ozempic for my diabetes. I started with 0.25mg and last week I increased to 0.5mg. So far it is going well, and my blood sugar has dropped quite a bit from around 9-11 to a 6-9 mmol/L. My average last week was 7.6 and my 2-week average was 7.9. Over the month it was 8.5, so it is in steady decline and as I enter week 2 with 0.5mg I feel good about this change. I am still taking my Metformin twice a day (2x 500mg) and I'll discuss with my doctor later if I should

Last night I decided to connect all the devices I have for measuring health to my health app. It is a bit overdue, but I just got the lancets for measuring my blood sugar this week and my wife has been a bit protective regarding her blood pressure cuffs. I also connected our Scales again to get weight measurements, since I seem to have gained a lot of weight recently when switching medication. Connecting my blood sugar test unit directly to my mobile phone was super ease and now that I have lanc

Yesterday I went on a checkup for my diabetes to see how it has improved since I got the diagnosis back in May. I also received the result of my testing for prostate cancer that everyone in Stockholm can test for once they turn 50. I tested for prostate cancer and took a long time sugar test on Wednesday, which was superfast and done by one of the most skilled nurses I have ever met. When I was diagnosed with diabetes I had 108 in long time sugar and 15.2 in glucose, which is pretty high. The t

For a while now, I have not been feeling 100% and a few weeks that culminated with me ending up in the Emergency Room for not being able to breath. Fortunately I quickly recovered and it seems that the loss of breath was a combination of a massive pollen release, my wife cleaning the bathroom with some heavy duty chemicals...and something else. As the clean air took care of my allergic reaction I also took a lot of tests. One of those tests was Glucose to see my blood sugar levels and those

Now that I have received the first vaccination for COVID, time is absolutely here to start working out again. While I am hardly immune in any way, I have a slightly better protection against severe illness. This is good enough under the circumstances I think. I really, really need to lose weight and get more activity, so I'll risk it. I have always been a gym-rat, loving the pain of pushing and pulling hard cold metal so I will go back to that. While hard exercise will have positive effects

So today my son and I start a new challenge together. One hundred push-ups and one hundred squats every day is the goal for a total of 9000 push-ups and 9000 squats. This will hurt. A lot. My questions for you is this: are you in? A few years ago I did the 10k push up challenge so when my son wanted to work out more and my wife keep nagging how fat I am, I figured why not do something crazy? In these times going to the gym is not exactly safe, so this seemed to be a safe exercise that can a

Yesterday I submitted a self test for COVID-19 and today I got the SMS with the result. Fortunately it was negative, at least for now. That means there is another reason why I have had symptoms of a cold for weeks, so I will check that up. It's a bit weird making self tests for COVID-19 because it's not exactly and easy test to take on your own. Because of that I can't help but to feel that maybe I failed because I did the test wrong... My situation is however far better than that of m

I am down with yet another cold. I have been sick on and off for almost five weeks now and it is getting a bit tiersome to say the least. This during a period where finding a new assignment is crucial is far from optimal if I put it like that. I also just upgraded this site and I have things to do, but not the energy to do get it done. For weeks now I have had headche, low fever, coughing and a very soar throat. I do not sleep well and had to take some nose spray for about a week just to be

Training is about to get a bit more serious now that I have committed to it fully. It is still a bit slow as I have not really found the flow yet due to some sickness (SHR) and starting a new assignment. Last Sunday I also managed to hurt my knee a bit so it's a bit limiting as well. I bought a gym card now and it's feeling good to go train actually. It's slowly getting less crowded, which is nice. My body is responding well to the training, so it's nice to feel the "pain" again. I still ne
