    Interview

Henrik Brinkhagen is CEO of Claremont Business Transformation (CBT). I met Henrik over a nice dinner at Koh Phagnan on Östermalm which later went on a long walk out to the farm. During our 90+ minutes we talked about many things and what is presented here is only a small taste of the warm and open conversation offered by Henrik.

Henrik, tell us a little about your company and what you do?

Claremont Business Transformation, CBT, is a company that wants to help the customer define and realize their digital transfer. Thus, it can be said that CBT consists of two transactions. One part (Define) provides preliminary studies and analyzes to help the customer find a direction forward. The other (Realize) acts as handrails and signposts with the role of guiding and guiding initiatives towards the goal that has been identified.

In many ways CBT is the company within Claremont that can follow the customer through its development / transfer, from start-up, through implementation to management.

At Claremont, every employee is trained and we learn about DISC as a step to understanding each other and the outside world a little better. Based on DISC, what is your disposition?

My outline is fairly even, with an emphasis on DC. My interpretation is that smoothness helps me to be flexible in situations that emerge.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in Borås.

I did military service right after high school. I did military service as a s.k. Signal scanner at the Swedish Defense Radio Agency, FRA. It is a demanding mission where ear and brain play a key role in identifying potential threats.

After the military service, it went to Linköping and an education with a focus on Industrial Economics (civil engineering). The mix of science subjects, which until then was the favorite among the subject areas, and economics where I felt I wanted to challenge myself and develop, felt attractive.

I also studied in Australia, but felt that I was not challenged enough, which is why I rounded off a little early to return home to Sweden instead to finish my education at home.

What do you do when you are not working?

We have a holiday home where the family spends most of our free time together.

In the winter, hopefully there will be a lot of skiing as well.

Tell us something no one knows about you?

I lost my mother to Cancer early, which happened during my studies. This was a difficult time and it may be what makes the family feel so important to me today.

If you had the opportunity to do just about anything, what would it be?

I think it would be something like actively contributing to preventing the negative effects on ongoing climate change. Being able to help make the conditions for people better - here and now as well as in the long term - is something that is dear to me.

If you get to choose which superhero would best represent you?

I'm bad at superheroes, but Daredevil feels like a superhero that would suit me. He defends those who cannot defend themselves, both in his role as superhero, but also in his normal role when he, as a lawyer, uses his power to help others.

Choose a person you feel you would like to ask a question to. Who would it be and what would the question be?

I would like to ask the following question to Anton Uppström, one of our new colleagues at Claremont Accellerate, who recently graduated and then started his consulting career at Claremont. I had the privilege of working with both during his thesis and in an exciting project during the spring and summer.

"What is important for you to be happy and develop in the long term with (for) an employer like Claremont and how do you think the company has so far managed to meet this need?"

The reason I ask this question to Anton is that I see that Claremont's continued success will largely be determined by how well we manage to develop our employees and succeed in attracting new skills, not least from the "generation" and with the characteristics and potential that Anton possesses. By the way, Anton says he does a damn good job!

With that, I thank Henrik for a nice chat and hope for more conversations in the future. The Digital Transformation area is an area that I am very passionate about, so I like to discuss it often and often.
